The "friendly" AXE

Thank you Mark ( Amazing Art Director ) for sharing this funniest video ever. Now I want to shower share with you, all the wonderful, lovely people who visit my blog. AXE has been doing a lot of awesome advertising, but this is something that blows me away with a different approach. Enjoy, and have a great weekend!

"It's not just environmentally friendly;
it's all kinds of friendly!"

New L Gallery Exhibition

One more reason to prove I should work for W+K.
Courtesy of Simone Moessinger entitled "We keep messages"
Here is what Simone has to say about this new exhibit:
"Messages We Keep.
In this digital age we rarely hold on to a text, email or much less voicemail.
Still these seemingly meaningless, erasable messages can mean so much to us and looking forward they're actually all we'll all have, or actually not have.
I just wanted to find ways to commemorate them and then send them back to the original recipients to keep.
This is a collection of some of these messages."

Earth Hour

Just a hour, from 8:30 - 9:30, turn off your lights,
shut down everything....Let the earth breathe.

In Bali, I discovered the annual Day of Silence, a Hindu New Year observance during which the entire island shuts down and people are banned from the streets for 24 hours, yes, not a hour, 24 HOURS. The one of the most important religious events for Balinese, called Nyepi. At that day, land and sea transportation to and from Bali would be halted for 24 hours, no work, no TV or radios or cell, no cooking, no lights, and no any activities...You'll start to see the most beautiful nature of things that has been always around you, and you have been ignored. Show you care, show your love, just a hour. Thank you!

The power of a great story.

Canal Plus is a French premium pay television channel launched in 1984. It's owned by the Canal Plus Group. This is the best promotion piece I've seen so far in 2010. Half-way through I was wondering where is this going? In the end I break down laughing. Great use of humor, great story telling, blowed me away! A big thanks to my friend who send me this awesome video! If this doesn't win some serious award, I will be in shock. Damn, I wish I've done that!

New year's resolutions.

Article in Ad Age on three new year's resolutions your agency need to make.
1. Stop Selling and Start Fulfilling.
As in stop selling what you're staffed to create and start fulfilling the very new needs that your clients have today.
2. Pitch Less.
Given that every moment you spend pitching something you lose is in essence lost revenue and wasted time, isn't it just good business to only pitch when you're almost certain you'll win?
3. Be Sexy Again.
Advertising is still the most fun you can have with your clothes on and not go to jail. It's still incredible fun and exciting. So act like it.
Personally, I would add a number 4....
4. Stop making ads looks like ads.
Make it looks like a movie, a music video, a sitcom. Make it fun to watch, beautiful to look at. Make it entertaining! Create a sparkling personality, because that's what makes people to listen and fall in love with. Have we all learn something from Lady Gaga?
If I have to give "The best personality of the year 2009 award", I would have give it to Coke, congratulations! You did it the best!
